Noodle Doodles

Tonight we used cooked spaghetti noodles to make designs and pictures on construction paper. This is another fun project from Family Fun.

I boiled the spaghetti for about half the time it said on the package so it wouldn't be too soft, and I added a splash of vegetable oil so the noodles would separate.

When they were finished, I rinsed them with cold water.
Then the girls got right to work. They loved the feel of the cold, slippery noodles and the fact that they could use the butter knife to cut them into different lengths. Cutie spent most of her time just playing with the noodles, transfering them back and forth from the plate to her paper, letting them run through her fingers.
Sweetie spent most of her time cutting.
After they finished their "doodles" I laid a piece of wax paper on top and then a heavy book to really get the spaghetti to adhere to the page.
My finished product: Girl Jumping Rope with Cat
All three of us really enjoyed making noodle doodles.

Cute idea, Chrissie.....Thanks for a good project to do with my daughter this week. I also want to make those coconutty chicken strips, but when I mentioned it to my husband he informed me he doesn't like those kinds of things....he likes regular chicken strip. I am still going to try them (he can make a peanut butter sandwich). :)

Thanks for the comment on my blog. :)
