Aprons from Placemats and Shoelaces

These aprons are so simple to make. Inspired by this dish towel apron, I got busy making some for my girls.
I used placemats, because they were on sale at Target and had a vinyl coating, similar to oilcloth.

I folded the top corners of the placemat back and secured them with mismatched buttons. Then I tied two shoelaces together in a bow and strung each end behind a button. And that's it! They turned out so cute we had to get baking right away.
We decided to make some more chocolate chip scones, since we finished off the first delicious batch.

Such cuteness.
