I bought some Shrinky Dink paper from Joann's, and we've been having a blast with it.
I made these tags to label the girls' toys, books, dance stuff and dress up clothes in their room. I used Sharpies for the words and punched two holes at the top of each tag before they went into the oven.
Here are the tags, ready to pop into the oven. (I just put the hole punch there as a size reference, it didn't get baked.)
Here they are after 4 minutes. Amazing, right?
And now, tied on...

I also made tags with their names for their lunch bags and this new tag for our dog's collar.
Hmmm...what should I make next?

I LOVE shrinky dinks and I especially love what you did with them. I think I need to make a trip to the craft store......
soooo cute! Well done, can I borrow you as an artist? :)
I didn't know you could buy shrinky dink paper. I still remember playing with shrink dinks and watching them shrink in the oven right before my eyes.
I used to love shrinky dinks! Such a good idea Chrissy- you are so artistic! I love your drawings!
What fun is that? I used to go through tons of shrinky dink stuff. I drove my mother crazy:)
my jr. high girls and i did shrinky dink tags up at camp, i had forgetten how much fun they can be.
Very cool. I am going to have to try this out too!
LOVE IT! You clever girl! I "met" Nyla. She stopped by my blog. I love meeting new bloggy friends.
Watch the recycle numbers on your clear plastic bakery cartons. #6 recycle plastic can be used to make shrinky dinks. I wash and cut all of the flat pieces and save them for a rainy day!
We love them too!
brilliant! it would be fun to make little necklaces, bookmarks and keychains...
I'm new here! Just curious...do you purchase the tag seperately at JoAnn's? You make me want to get up and go there right this second!!! LOVE your ideas!
Chrissie you are too much. I think Alfred loves his new tag!
You need to give us an update on the girls' dance lessons. More pictures please!
I cut the shrinky dink paper into a circle (I traced around a drinking glass)and punched a hole in the top.
Then I decorated it and baked it according to the package directions.
I used the existing ring on his collar to hang the tag.
You really should sell your ideas...create a book!
Awesome idea. I need to label some totes. I have leftover printable shrinky dink paper from a part we had a few years ago. I am making them tonight. I found you from Letti's blog.
We used to shrink Smiths' crisp packets here in Oz, until they change they material and it became a gooey mess. Where do you get srhinky dink paper? Is there a proper name for it? I may be looked at madly if I ask for 'Shrinky Dink paper'. Will make some with my daughter if I get some!
What a cute idea! I think I'm going to do this to label Christmas gifts this year. Thanks for the idea.
Love, love, love your blog and your awesome ideas. Thanks so much for sharing. Shrinky dinks are so much fun and I just happen to have some on hand.
