Handmade Christmas Gift Tags

Sprinkled throughout the next few weeks, I'll be posting some fun ideas for handmade Christmas ideas to make and give. Click the button at the top left of the screen to see all the ideas.

We're really loving using popsicle sticks in our crafts right now. It takes a strong pair of nippers to cut them into pieces, but there are so many cute designs to made.

Materials:
circle (5 inch diameter) or 5 inch square
popsicle sticks (we used jumbo size)
strong nippers
glue
googly eyes
sparkly jewel stickers
hole punch
ribbon
scrap paper for antlers and star

To make the Christmas tree, you'll need three popsicle sticks. Cut off the ends of each stick at an angle (2 small, 2 medium and 2 large pieces). I cut off one end of the stick, and then used it as a guide to cut the other end. Glue them down in the shape of the tree.

I love the natural wood color, but it would be fun to paint the sticks green.

We used brown paper for a rectangular trunk, sparkly jewel stickers for the ornaments, and a flower punch for the star at the top.
To make the reindeer, we cut the end off a popsicle stick and glued it to the card. I cut out "Y" shaped antlers from green paper. Googly eyes and a red sparkly jewel for the nose make this little guy complete.

Really, really sweet. I love these and bookmarked the idea, although I'm not sure where to buy popsicle-sticks in Germany. I like your family-fun a lot, thanks for sharing, Sina

I love this idea (and the one of the hearts from the other day).
I have been printing off some of your posts to give to Grace's preschool teacher for craft ideas, she loves them too!
If they do any I'll take pics and post or send to you.

Bombini, I wonder if they would have tongue depressors at a medical supply store or drug store in Germany?

Sous Chef, I bought those round tags at Target a couple years ago. So, yeah, I guess you missed it. Sorry!

Satsuki Rebel, thanks for letting me know about the link. I'll work on that.

If you have old manilla file folders and a circle punch you can make your own tags & recycle old folders. They are sturdy and hold up well with glue, markers, etc.
