Pen Pals

My girls have their first pen pal! She lives in Canada, and her mother discovered us through the wonderful world of blogging. We've just exchanged our first letters and pictures, and the girls are so excited. What a great way to work on writing skills, learn about geography, make a friend and just have fun.

Our pen pal's family is going to keep all the correspondence in a scrapbook. I think it's such a fabulous idea that we've started a scrapbook as well.

We can't wait to write our next letter.

Who might be a possible pen pal for your kids?

Hi Chrissie, the scrapbook looks great. It's going to be fun to see it fill up.

How wonderful! You know, I had a pen pal in Japan from the time I was in grammar school until after I got married and then we lost touch. I still think of her often and wish I could contact her again. Loved receiving her letters with her beautiful little handwriting. ...April

I have had a pen pal for 28 years and it has been an amazing experience for me. I hope to encourage my girls to have their own pen pals. Thanks for the reminder to do this! Love the scrapbook idea too!

I have a pen pal.
I have been writing to her since I was seven.
I'm forty now.
She is definitely a part of me.

Email has changed our correspondence and communication - but we are still VERY close.

Enjoy!

My 8 year old daughter would LOVE to have a pen pal. Do you know of any 8 year olds that would enjoy it too? Let me know -
