Valentine Brownies with Pink Icing

We made chocolate brownies from a box mix and used a cookie cutter to make heart shapes.
We mixed up a simple icing to drizzle on each heart.
Ingredients:
1 cup confectioner's sugar
2 teaspoons milk (a little more for a thinner consistency)
2 teaspoons light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
red food coloring

  1. In a small bowl, stir together confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and vanilla extract until icing is smooth and glossy. If icing is too thick, add more corn syrup.
  2. Divide into separate bowls, and add red food coloring to each to make a light pink and a dark pink. Drizzle on cookies with a spoon.
They were as delicious as they were pretty.

I love Valentine's Day.

What are your plans for the leftovers? Maybe "cake balls"? Crumble up the leftovers, mix in some of that pink icing as a binder, then make balls. Dip them into melted chocolate that will reharden after it's cooled and you'll have super sweet treats that are perfect for sharing.
