This might be the cutest book ever written, and the pictures are brilliant as well. Anna Dewdney did both the writing and illustrating. Amazing.
The story is about a baby llama who is supposed to be going to sleep but wants a drink, feels lonely, and then gets scared when his llama mama doesn't come right away.
"Llama llama
red pajama
waiting waiting
for his mama.
Mama isn't
coming yet.
Baby Llama
starts to fret.
What is
Mama Llama doing?
Baby Llama
starts boo hoo-ing."
We relate very well to the bed-time struggle depicted in this book, as I'm sure you can as well.
What a fun read.

My kids LOVE this book too! They also love the next one, Llama Llama Mad at Mama! It is about the little Llama who has to go run errands with Mama and would rather be home playing instead. Very cute!!

We LOVE this book! We were so excited when we received it free in the mail through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program. Do you have the program in your town?

B and I LOVE this one! Have you read "Llama Llama Mad At Mama" yet? It's just as cute and funny!
Oh wow, I have to read this to my darling daughter who still frets like that little baby llama and we have a regular nighttime visitor. oh the joys of parenthood.
We love this book! I'll have to check out the "Llama Llama Mad at Mama" book.
I love this book! It was the gift my daughter got when I weaned her. (She was almost 2 1/2 and knew she loved the book since it had been read at library story time.) It sure made the weaning process easier, and made it an even more special book to me.
