Hide a Number 1-20

This game helps with counting and improving number sense. And, more importantly, it involves candy.

Here's what you do:

  • Print out the game board below.
  • With your child's eyes closed, cover a number with an M&M or Skittle.
  • Have your child guess the hidden number.
  • If they guess correctly they get to eat the candy.
  • Encourage them to figure out the number without counting from one.
  • As they get the hang of it, try covering up three or four numbers at a time.

I just played this tonight with the kiddos and they all loved it! Because it was right before bed we used cereal squares instead of candy.

This is how I adapted it for their different age levels:
-for our 4-year-old I did it the way you described.
-for our 6-year-old I covered up 2-3 numbers and she had to add or subtract the numbers in her head to give me the answer.
-for our 1 year old I just put out some squares and she ate them.

It was a fun family time!!!

this is a great idea!!! : )
we were driving on the freeway this morning and my five year old was looking for the letters in his name and then the alphabet. this number game came to mind and i was thinking it could probably be done with the alphabet, too... upper and lower case.

Math-Aids.Com is a free resource for teachers and parents. You can make an unlimited number of printable math worksheets for children, the classroom or homework practice. The answer key is included with each math worksheet as it is created. The worksheets are randomly generated so when you request one it will be different every time. Each math topic has several different types of math problems so you may choose which area to focus on in that subject.

I have built a special section just for Kindergarten Math Topics. There are 24 topics currently in this section. I will be glad to add any topic that you may need.
