Planting Tomatoes in the Garden

It's tomato planting time!

We found a small sunny corner in our backyard, dug a couple holes, and plopped in some tomato plants.
We placed a tall cylindrical cage over each small tomato plant to help them support their weight as they get taller.
We're watering them every day and waiting to see what happens.

Simple Mom has a great article on creative ideas for gardening with kids.

What have you been planting?

Can't wait to plant! Will be planting our tomatoes and cucumbers soon. My girls had so much fun with our garden last year.

I just told my son yesterday that we are going to have to get outside and plant some tomatoes for this year.

He helped me last year and we really had a lot of fun working on it together.

Must ask what region you're in? I have been wondering if it's too soon here in the midwest. Want the garden in by Mother's Day I think.

We'll plant pole beans, tomatoes, peppers and have strawberries and asparagus to come up again. Also have cucumbers, zuchinni and squash - none of which grew last year - don't know why.....

Great time to be shared with the kids. Mine all helped for a little while last year - and love watering. But when it came time to weed, and turn the soil - no one wanted to help. Oh well - I love home grown veggies. Wish I had more room for more veggies.

Thanks for the reminder that Spring is finally here! What great pix and memories with your girls.

We did a vegetable garden last year for the first time and it was so much fun! I think we are going to have to skip this year because we got a puppy. We love the puppy, but are definitely bummed to miss out on the garden. Have fun!!!

We are planting a salsa and brushetta garden...tomatoes, jalepeno's, cilantro, and basil...and, of course, pumpkins and strawberries!

We have only planted herbs together but just started some paperwhites. It's simple, but my little girl is enjoying watching the bulbs come to life on our window sill.

I'm offering a Mother's Day card giveaway and thought your readers might be interested: http://burningbushes.org/?p=660

What a fun project!

And your daughters have great taste in clothing! I especially love that brown skirt-over-pants combo! Adorable!
