Meet Bella

She's the newest member of our family and so completely sweet. Who would have thought that $2.99 could bring such joy?
We're off to the library today to find some books about Betta fish. We want to take really good care of her.

I have 3 betas that I've had for years. They are wonderful pets for young kids! As morbid as it sounds, they are hard to kill. They can live in yucky water conditions. I've heard they live in puddles in Japan. I have live plants in my bowls. Bamboo grows well and it's neat to see a new one sprout roots in the water! I also keep mine in an aquarium that has an air pump. They seem happier when the water is moving :) I don't think a filter is necessary. They aren't very dirty. Also, some books/websites say that you can put a male and female together... I tried it and it turned out tragic :(

This was probably way too much beta info, but I love them so I thought I'd share :)

Awww! That's actually one of the names I am thinking of for my baby-not due until Christmas- if it's a girl. I've always loved Bella!!

Darn, I wish fish could go in the mail... I'd mail you ours! Rosie is over a year old now, and the magic has worn off. I have to clean the bowl, or I'm stuck looking at murky water while I'm washing dishes at the kitchen sink.
Oh well... have fun! :-)

I heard about her, but no one could remember the name. I spent 60 cents on two gold fish for the classroom and it has brought much joy!

I had a beta named Julius when I was a little girl and he lived FOREVER! Glad to see Bella has found such a great home. :)

I love your blog. I am a preschool teacher and teach parenting classes, I give my parents your website address all the time, I wish it was around when my boys were little. Our Beta died last summer, but we had him for almost 4 years!! His name was Lava...he was Red.
