We love books with a strong sense of pattern. They're perfect for my girls as they are just learning to read. They help them understand that text and illustrations have meaning, to enjoy the act of turning the pages in a book and to gain confidence as a reader.
Each page in It Looked Like Spilt Milk follows the same simple pattern - a picture of a puffy white silhouette and repetitive text like the following:
Sometimes it looked like a Tree. But it wasn't a Tree.
Sometimes it looked like an Ice Cream Cone. But it wasn't an Ice Cream Cone.
This book is fun, imaginative and has a wonderful ending. It's one of our favorites.

Thanks for the great share. We are bookworms too.
I teach my 4 and 2 year old my own style of pre-school all with the use of children's books.
I am always on the look out for something new and interesting to plug in to their learning.

Chrissie - I think I speak for all of your followers when I say that I am just dying to know the rest of your story (coming together as a family)... can you share more with us?
Hey Mama,
I can't finish the story yet, because it's not done! We're still in process. I'll keep you all updated on any new developments.
I can't wait to hear the rest either.
Love.

I couldn't help but notice that your themes with the highest count are crafts and books!! My two favorites with my kids as well! I found you on Preschool Playbook and love when I find a great blogger! I started a new monthly post on my blog today called Bookworm Beginnings and would love for you to link a book review to my blog if you'd like. I think sharing recommendations is fantastic and worthwhile. Reading is so important. Thanks for sharing what you love on your blog!
