We're working on sounding out words with three letters and a short vowel in the middle. We made up this game to go along with our learning in Phonics Pathways. It mixes things up a bit and makes us laugh.
And their reading is coming along. Pretty soon Matt and I won't be able to s-p-e-l-l out parts of our conversations to hide top secret information from the girls.

such a cute idea
This is so cute, thanks so much for sharing. I'll be linking. We used to spell words out to keep our dog from getting excited. Now she knows w-a-l-k and c-a-r, lol.
we are dangerously close to being able to spell things (so the kids don't understand). maybe we should start taking french lessons???
Hi,
I would like to nominate you for the Honest Scrap Award. Details are located on my blog. Thanks for a great read.
Thanks for the game, I think it will bring some freshness back to reading for my 5yo.
Happy Birthday Chrissie!!! Hope you have a fabulous day!
We started spelling backwards, if you can believe that! It slowed us down, but our almost 10 year old still can't figure out what we are doing! LOL!!!
i did this game with Landon this week for school. he LOVED it!!! i just got my phonics pathways book in the mail today. i think it will be a great supplement to what we are doing already. thanks for always sharing your great ideas.
I really appreciate the documents like this that you share with your readers. Thank you so much for your generosity!
I remember when we couldn't spell secrets anymore and the wide eyes we had as our middle child figured out words WAY too soon!
What a fun game! Thanks for sharing and good luck with the 3 letter words!
