We found a dead bat...

We found this little critter when we were up in the mountains. It actually fell out of my brother-in-law's shirt when he was changing. Not cool.
But the girls and I were ecstatic because we've been studying about bats. Ever since we read Stellaluna, we've been exploring the library for everything we can find on bats. This was a pretty unexpected surprise.
We were extremely careful, and no one touched the bat. I was the only one who delicately transferred it onto a paper plate so we could stretch out the wings and get a closer look.
Amazing!

Pretty amazing when nature provides you with exactly what you need. Very cool!

Oh, you are brave! I would be scared to examine a dead bat!

Do you already know about Anna Botsford Comstock's "Handbook of Nature?" If not, check it out, I think you would really like it!
