I did this project with my speech and language students ages 6 through high school. They all loved it! We learned how to "table juggle", practice spelling words with the balls, practice multiplication facts playing a game called "Buzz", practiced chants while passing the balls around in a circle, and used them as stress relievers/fidgets!

ow. this has really brought back memories.
my brother and sister and i used to ALWAYS make these when we were younger.
its a good idea to stretch the balloon first!
we'd always fumble over trying to cram the rice into the balloons, and usually it would come spitting out and go everywhere!

Oh my gosh! HOW PERFECT!! We are trying to teach my autistic son his colors and apparently they are throwing him different colored balls at school - and then he has to jump to the circle on the floor that is that color - so this will be perfect to replicate that exercise at home!!!!! Seriously, thanks for the idea!!! And it will be fun to make them!!
