Hamilton Beach 31126 Review – Best Budget Oven?

If you are on the market for a toaster oven or a convection oven you will have likely heard of Hamilton Beach. Hamilton Beach design and produce a range of products for the kitchen – it is their specialty.

Now as for this oven in particular it is a popular product that is available at a very affordable price point – but does that equate to a great product at the end of the day. Below in my review I will cover everything about it to give you the best insight to know if it’s the right choice for you!

First of let me talk about the design of this oven. It is designed to be placed on a countertop and will easily fit thanks to its compact design. It can fit up to a 12-inch pizza inside or a 9×12 inches baking pan. So, for cooking most things inside there should be plenty of room. The oven can be used in the traditional oven sense or can be used for toasting bread. There are also options for baking and broiling both of which work perfectly well.

The temperature of the oven can be adjusted up to a maximum temperature of 450F. The one clear and unique feature with this countertop oven is the roll top door. Inside of most other similar ovens where the door will open out and make accessing the food more difficult and where it can be a general nuisance with this option you don’t have that issue. The door opens out and above so taking out food and putting in food is much more accessible and doesn’t use up a lot more space on your countertop when it’s open – it’s an excellent design choice.

You simply put your food onto the shelf like any other grill and close the lid. On the underside you can use the included crumb tray with can be easily removed to be emptied or cleaned as needed.

As far as cooking goes with this oven its heats up quickly and the oven cooks just as you would expect from any other traditional oven. Because the sides aren’t well insulated they can get quite hot to the touch – so make sure that the kids aren’t nearby or anything that could be damaged by the nearby heat.

The oven itself is well made and feels durable and built to last. It also looks premium and high end and will fit into almost all kitchens with ease thanks to its contemporary design.

One other small downside I would like to highlight is the fan when using the conventional oven is a little louder than I have used in the past. It not overly loud but it is noticeable none the less.

Overall this is a great oven that is available at an extremely low price point that most people can afford. While there are a couple of minor downsides you can’t argue the amount of value that is offered with this oven for such a low price point. I thoroughly recommend this oven!
