Chocolatey Creamy Milk

Juice and sodas are beverages we drink on occasion. But we try not to make that occasion very often. Because my girlies have trouble digesting lactose, their drink choices are mostly limited to water and lactose-free milk.

They love to take sips of my iced tea, and they keep asking me when they can start drinking coffee, but I think four is still just a little young for that amount of caffeine.

Anyway, we were out for lunch a couple days ago and the girls both wanted something other than water to drink.

Really. Really bad.

I explained to them that this restaurant only served "tummy-ache milk," (their name for it) but that we could make chocolate milk later at home.

So exciting! "Mom, when can we make chocolate milk?" was the question I heard through the rest of lunch and during the car ride home.

So into the house, straight to the kitchen, squeeze, pour, swirl, drink.

Delicious. And so simple and satisfying.
