Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes

Most of us have heard nursery rhymes over and over. We know them almost as well as our own name.

Not only are nursery rhymes rich with lively characters and imaginative stories, but they teach beginning skills like rhyme, rythmn, and vocabulary which prepare children for reading and other learning. And they are so much fun! Adding silly voices and hand motions make them even more engaging.

Our favorite nursery rhyme book is My Very First Mother Goose edited by Iona Opie. It has wonderful illustrations to go along with a great selection of rhymes.
